The Horizon Estate
A 12,400-square-foot luxury residence on the California coast, where open-plan living dissolves into sea-facing terraces, framed pools and warm, tactile materials.

The Horizon Estate is a 12,400-square-foot private residence set on a bluff above the California coastline. The brief was for a home that would feel expansive and social yet deeply calm — a place organised entirely around the horizon and the light coming off the water.
Living, dining and kitchen share one continuous volume that opens completely to a travertine terrace, an infinity-edge pool and uninterrupted views of the Pacific. Sliding glass walls retract fully, erasing the line between inside and out.
Warm stone, oak joinery and bronze detailing make up a restrained, tactile palette that ages gracefully in the coastal climate. Deep roof overhangs shade the interiors through the day and frame the sunset each evening.
The result reflects our commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship, enduring materials and meticulous attention to detail — the qualities that define every Voltex project.

Delivered over 26 months, the Horizon Estate brought together our architects, engineers and craftspeople in close collaboration, resolving structure, services and finishes long before ground was broken to protect both programme and budget.
The finished home is designed to age gracefully — a coastal residence that will feel as considered and effortless in thirty years as it does the day the keys were handed over.
